Haryana Budget 2020: Rs 19,343 Crore Allocated For Education, Sports And Culture, Health Sector Gets Rs 6,533 Crore
New Delhi | Jagran Business Desk: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who also holds the finance portfolio in the state, presented Rs 1.42 lakh crore budget for the financial year 2020-21 in the Haryana Legislative Assembly.
Khattar, who presented his maiden budget, said that the debt is set to increase to Rs 1.98 lakh crore in 2020-21 as against Rs 1.76 lakh crore in the previous fiscal. He further stated that the expenditure will increase to Rs 1,42,343 crore, a rise of 7.7 per cent. Revenue receipts are expected to increase by 15.96 per cent in 2020-21 to Rs 89,964 crore, he said.
Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar has had a pre-budget discussion with MLAs as Finance Minister. After the meeting, about 12 big suggestions came, out of which six suggestions can be included in the government's budget.

The BJP-JJP alliance government in Haryana allocates Rs 6,294 crore to rural development and panchayat, while Rs 349 crore was given to industries and Rs 9,000 crore to pensions.

The government has allocated Rs 5,474.25 crore to agriculture.

The discussion on the budget will take place on March 2 and the session will conclude on March 3.
The Budget session of the Haryana Assembly began on February 20.
The Chief Minister held pre-budget consultations with MLAs, seeking their suggestions on various issues related to agriculture, health, education, etc.
It will be the first time that Khattar will present the state budget. Captain Abhimanyu was the finance minister in the previous Khattar-led BJP government.
